Wake Up With One Of The Most Underrated Players Ever

A few days ago I had a blog idea to talk about the most random player you could think of, and my pick was going to be Antawn Jamison. So when I saw today as his birthday, well what a better time to do it! For my money, Jamison is one of the most underrated players of his era. This dude was pretty damn good for a lonnnnnnnng time. Even as a 35 year in in CLE he still put up 17/6 playing in 65 games with 33 minutes a night. It's weird, he's absolutely not going to make the Hall Of Fame, but you look at what he was able to accomplish over 17 seasons and it's pretty nuts

For starters, his 20,042 points. This has his 50th all time in NBA history which is pretty impressive. You might not think that, but that's more points than guys like John Stockton, Bernard King, LaMarcus Aldridge, Tony Parker, Scottie Pippen, Isiah Thomas, Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, TMac, Magic Johnson, Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, Grant Hill, Chris Bosh, Chris Webber, Jerry Stackhouse, Joe Dumars, James Worthy etc. That's pretty nuts considering there's no way Jamison gets the same love as any other top 50 scorer.

He never won a ring, but let's not pretend Jamison wasn't a force in the playoffs either. Remember the 2006-07 season when he averaged 32 a night in the playoffs? He just had a tough draw of being on the pre-Steph Warriors and then the whole Wizards era that was a disaster. He was with LeBron for a year before he bounced from CLE to MIA, and then Jamison never got over the hump with either LA team to finish out his career.

Jamison is also 76th all time in rebounding so while he might not be HOF caliber, he's definitely in the Hall Of Very Good.
