This was never in doubt, but now it’s official. I mean the defense said he did it. That was like their opening statement. There was video of him, pictures, a letter written in blood all but admitting he was involved that he wrote inside the boat. This wasn’t something where we were sitting here with our fingers crossed hoping we get justice, it was just a matter of when we get justice and how. Maybe this will help some people with the healing process but I feel like so many more instances have already taken place that helped that process along more than today will: the Anthem at TD Garden, Papi’s speech, the Sox World Series parade, last year’s marathon, all the victims who went on to beat the odds and get back to dancing or walked out to the mound Fenway and threw out a first pitch. For me, at least, all of those instances were so much more important than this. The uplifting moments and incredible triumphs of human will, that’s the shit I’ll remember. Fuck this dude. Kill him, lock him up and throw away the key, whatever. I don’t fucking care. I’ll never think about him again. I’ll mourn the loses of Martin Richard, Krystle Campbell, Lu Lingzi, and Sean Collier. I’ll think about Jeff Bauman, Marc Fucarile, Adrianne Haslet-Davis, the first responders and everyone else who went on to tell this asshole that he didn’t win. That he didn’t change shit and never will. Those are the important moments, for me at least (and I recognize my opinion is not nearly as important as the opinion of someone who was directly affected). This kid means less than nothing to me. So good riddance, dude, I don’t even remember your fucking name.

PS – As for Death Sentence sentencing, which will begin April 13th, I prefer life in prison. Not because I’m anti-death penalty or anything like that. I just personally think life in prison is a way worse penalty. But if you want to send him straight to hell then that’s fine too. Whatever.
