Finnish Hockey Goalie Scores His 2nd Goal In 4 Games

You may remember Kaapo Kahkonen from last week when he scored for his Finnish club team TUTO. Not quite sure what was more impressive, the goal itself or the play-by-play announcer’s call of the call. Well anyway, the Minnesota Wild prospect is at it again. This time lighting the lamp in a little friendly action between the Finnish U20 team and U18 squad. It’s not quite as exciting as his first goal of the year, but this makes 2 for the kid in his past 4 games. In case you were wondering, there are 186 skaters who have played in the NHL this season who have scored zero (I’m sure I should probably go in and look at how many of those players have played at least 4 games, but that’s a lot of work. Let’s just assume it’s at least 75%). The last 19-year-old Finn who was lighting the lamp at this rate was a little guy who went by the name of Teemu Selanne, and he was pretty good if I recall correctly. Not quite sure what the asking price Minnesota would be looking for on Kahkonen, but I have a lot of guys on the Flyers in mind that I wouldn’t mind replacing with him. At least he’d generate some offense.

P.S. – It’s probably best to watch the video up top on mute and just have the audio from this playing over it. Much more of a party that way.
