After Taking 5 of 6 Points On Their Road Trip, The Caps Officially Clinched Their Playoff Spot Last Night

They won in Montreal vs Carey Price. They came back from a 3 goal first period deficit (where 2 of the goals were unfortunate 5 on 3 tallies) to grab a point and force OT in Ottawa vs Andrew Hammond and his 17-1-2 record, and then last night playing back to back games went into the Joe and beat the Red Wings 2-1. Yesterday was one of those games on back-to-back nights where everyone did their part. All 4 lines were killing it. The defense played great, and Holtby I swear ripped his groin 4 different times making split saves (Alzner had one too in the final seconds of the game, pray for his dick). Tom Wilson even blocked a shot with his head.

On their flight home the Leafs won on the shootout vs the Sens, allowing the Caps to officially clinch their playoff spot.

They were greeted back at the airport with the good news

With the Caps having gone 7-2-1 in their last 10 while the Isles and Pens have both faulted, they have vaulted above both squads in the Metro

Both have a game in hand, which is big, especially for the Isles. They finish their season on the road vs the Flyers tomorrow, in Pittsburgh on Friday, and then on Long Island vs the hot Blue Jackets on Saturday, winners of 9 straight.

The Caps are getting some rest now, then will close the season at home vs the Bruins on Wednesday and the Rangers on Saturday at 12:30.
