Regular Season Perfection: (1) Tennessee Outlasts Kentucky to Remain Undefeated

That's a wrap on the regular season. And that's a wrap on a flawless set of 12 games for the (1) Tennessee Volunteers and Head Coach Gus Duggerton.

The top team in the nation took down unranked Kentucky 36-26 in a sloppy affair in Lexington on Thursday night, but as "The Bear" says, you'll take any conference road win you can get.

We've seen a few slow starts this season from QB Caleb Pressley and the Volunteer offense. Tonight, that actually wasn't the case. The Heisman Hopeful helped set the tone in Tennessee's opening drive that totaled 14 plays.

But the story of the first half was Kentucky's kicker, who went a perfect 4-for-4 in field goal attempts in the first 14 minutes of play. That included this one to send the underdogs into the halftime break with the lead.

As they always do, though, the Tennessee offense found its groove as the game went on. JoJo Smalls scored eight points...

Deion Flash flashed his athleticism for a tuddy...

And Herbert Phillips (?!?!?!?!) got in on the action as well...

The Wildcats continued to hang around as the clock ticked down, but Coach Duggs' offense made too many plays to allow Kentucky to have a real chance at the upset. As America's Coach preached throughout the broadcast: bend, don't break.

Now, there is truly no margin for error. It's off to Atlanta tomorrow afternoon to take on (12) Ole Miss in the 2017 SEC Championship Game. A win would lock up Coach Duggs' first EVER appearance in the Natty. Can he do it? Find out at 3 PM tomorrow live from HQ.
