One Last Road Test: No. 1 Tennessee Heads to Kentucky For Regular Season Finale

It's hard to believe, but the regular season for Coach Gus Duggerton's first (and only?) season with Tennessee wraps up tonight. Currently the No. 1 team in the country, the Volunteers are going to get everyone's best shot with their 11-0 record. That includes the Kentucky Wildcats, who will try to spoil Coach Duggs' perfect regular season this evening.

A couple of of sabermetrics for you as America's Coach returns to familiar territory: trying to lock in an undefeated 12-game stretch.

To me, this game all comes down to Coach Duggs' mental game. We know he and the Vols will be locked in for tomorrow's SEC Title game and whatever comes after that.

But his squad has plenty to lose here, and they know they're already playing in Atlanta tomorrow night. Will lack of motivation be an issue? You'd hope not with Gus Duggerton at the helm.

Let's hope he learned his lesson yesterday vs. Vanderbilt. In snowy Knoxville, he escaped with a 36-25 victory. Keep in mind, that was facing a 2-8 Commodore team. Tonight, Kentucky is at home, trying to send their seniors off with a signature win.

See you at 9 PM ET.
