Justin Bour Is Now Hitting Tanks For The Hanshin Tigers In Japan And We Are Doing Air High-Fives

I think we're getting closer and closer to Major League Baseball returning. It may not feel that way to some, but I believe we'll have baseball in 2020. Until that day comes, we've had baseball in Taiwan, we've had baseball in Korea, and now we've got baseball in Japan where former major leaguer Justin Bour is playing for the Hanshin Tigers of the Nippon Professional Baseball. Bour's a big dude. 6-foot-4 and close to 300 pounds of human mass. The big fella popped 25 homers in 108 games back in 2017 and now he's launching big boy tanks in Japan.

As you can see, we're not doing high-fives due to the pandemic. We're doing, what Dan Haren describes as, fireballs from Street Fighter.

With all that's been going on in the world recently, I almost forgot about the global pandemic. That's certainly taken a back seat in the last week or so. But it is, in fact, still going on, which makes for moments like these where it almost looks like Bour is getting the silent treatment from his teammates after a homer, only they haven't vacated the dugout. Strange times, man. Strange times, indeed. But, if anything, we can take this as a sign of baseball getting that much closer to coming back, not losing sight of what's really important in the world right now, but also having some sense of normal life returning. We could all use that right now.
