Baseball Is #Back! Almost!!
Hmmmm.... that looks familiar. Look, I am not what you would call a handsome man. The good Lord chose not to bless me with charm, athletic ability, or a fully functional brain. But I do know what I'm talking about when it comes to baseball just a *little* bit.
Gun to head, mid July start date. I think that there will be salary advancements, deferrals and pro rated play for all 40 man players and that the owners will give in some time in the next 5ish days, but there's no way in hell they're playing a 114 game season. Probably more like 50 with ~24 teams making the playoffs and one LONG ass tournament to end the "season". Don't forget that TV deals are massive in the playoffs. Just saying.
Aka exactly what I said was going to happen. Now there is still negotiations to go. Naturally, after the owners make this formal proposal, the next move is to settle on an actual number of games.
THAT IS IT!!! I said this morning 50-60 games, but if that's the owners offer, the players will push for around 80 and they'll settle somewhere in the middle as a way to get the most money possible.
BOOM!! Baseball is coming back and HOLY SHIT do we need it. Thank fucking god
