Bears Cut Long Time Bear Roberto Garza

I think we all saw the writing on the wall here, Garza is 36 years old and the Bears are in a transitional period. Yes it’s a little weird that he was just signed to an extension in December but that was the old regime, Ryan Pace and John Fox are essentially cleaning house any way they can (read – any way they can afford to). The downside to this of course is that Garza was the consummate pro and one of the best guys in the locker room, a locker room that needs some serious repair. One of those moves where it sucks to see Garza be done with his career because he was one of the goods guys, one of the guys you enjoyed rooting for, but everyone knew it was coming.
