But the media is often unfair with their portrayals of people accused of crime so some Twitter users got mad and demanded that the guy get put in a better light:

And sometimes the media does listen!

And to top it all off, the mousetrapping from Jessica Jaglois came to an even better natural conclusion:

“And for more on this story because I’m not a racist, I defer all questions to my black reporter colleague to confirm the facts (and also that I’m not a racist).”

It’s kind of fucked up that a reporter has to go to these lengths to prove she’s not a racist — and that it’s definitely not a crazy assumption that she may have just chosen the worst possible photo of the kid to make him look bad — but that’s the name of the game these days. I just love how prepared she was for all the possible outcries, just covering that ass at every turn. Nothing else you can do for Jessica Jaglois but applaud (and be prepared to leap to her defense when someone tries to get her fired for this anyway).

PS If you’re a dude about to commit a crime and you’re not changing all of your public Facebook pictures to ones of you at the Boys and Girls Club, baking, or helping the elderly before you do it, are you even thinking? Read the insane asides in my blogs so you can be an evil genius JUST ONCE, guys.
