The Florida Panthers Are Holding Another Tryout, This Time To Join The Travelling Jagrs

As we all remember, the Florida Panthers recently held an open tryout to become the team’s back up goaltender. Somehow this guy didn’t end up making the cut?

Well now it looks like the Panthers will be holding another tryout on Thursday as they host Mullet Night In Sunrise, and this time it’s to become a “Non-Travelling Jagr”. via the Panthers’ website, this is what they’re looking for.

Smart move by the Panthers’ PR team to add that little last piece in there for the job requirements. Can’t risk having any Spanish-speaking Cubanos try out down in Florida and dominate the whole competition. But I can’t really say I agree with this whole thing one bit. The Travelling Jagrs are the closest thing to a gang that hockey fans could ever find themselves in. You think the Crips would ever hold an open try-out to join the boys in the gang at an Oakland Raiders game? Ehh, maybe an unorganized tryout but the answer is no. You gotta kill someone to join the Crips. Not just prance around at some silly tryout and get interviewed by smokeshow reporters for a few hours. The Panthers are undermining the Travelling Jagrs, and that’s pretty messed up. Regardless, we should always take the time to remember and celebrate Jagr’s mullet. And as long as the Panthers keep the Bruins out of the playoffs, I can’t stay mad at them forever.
