Olbermann Says The NCAA Needs To Pull The Final Four Out Of Indiana
Raw Story - ESPN host Keith Olbermann began his show on Monday by reiterating his demand that pro and college sports immediately begin distancing themselves from Indiana following the passage of an anti-LGBT “religious freedom” bill.
Senate Bill 101, Olbermann said, was “presented to this nation in the insidious guise expressed in its title, the ‘Religious Freedom Restoration Act.’ Which is not about freedom, but the loss of freedom. Which is not about religion, but about discrimination cloaked in religion. Which is not about the restoration of anything, except the hatred and prejudice of 50 or 100 years ago.”
Last week, Olbermann argued online that the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) withdraw its national mens’ basketball semifinals from Indianapolis.
Here’s the thing, Olbermann could put a weekly 10 minute clip on Youtube making the best, most rational points in the world, and I’d still feel my eyes gloss over after the first 2 from the smug prickness oozing through my computer screen. Like that was a pretty vicious takedown with a really strong central argument and interesting things to consider, yet all I could think was, I want to punch your face.
Live look at Mark Emmert watching Olbermann’s rant and “seriously considering” moving the location of his 100 gazillion dollar cash cow literally less than a week before the games start:
