A BARKLEY BOMB: Chuck Says Turner Execs Told Him NBA Is 100% Coming Back And MLB/NHL Are Playing Too

[Score] - "I do know this, talking to my bosses at Turner: We're going to play basketball," Barkley said. "It's gonna be in Florida and (Las) Vegas, or just Florida."

"(The NBA is) gonna make a decision in the next week," Barkley said on ESPN's "The Paul Finebaum Show" on Monday. "I'm 100% sure we're going to play. I know my friends in Major League Baseball are going to play. I know that the hockey league is going to play. I think the pro football and the college football, they have to sit back and see how it goes for us."

Oh hell yeah. Let me repeat even in a more Stone Cold voice, HELL YEAH. You know what, I believe him yo. Why? Because he's referencing the Turner executives. That's important here. It's the first time I truly remember one of these guys like Chuck referencing talking to his bosses. You know, the people who have to get people in line to work there and figure out broadcasting and all that good stuff? Yeah, that's the important part here. 

And sure, Barkley spews a lot of shit a bunch of the time, but this isn't that. This is hope. This is the news that we needed to hear. He gives a timeline in terms of NBA making a decision this week and really that's just about whether they are playing the entire league at Disney World or if they are doing the Eastern Conference there and Western Conference in Vegas. Either way is good with me. It's a step to getting sports back. 

I've blogged it before, but we really deserve this awesome sports calendar that's about to come up. You're telling me starting in July(ish) we could be looking at the NBA, NHL, MLB, the playoffs for all of those sports, the Masters, the NFL, college football, Kentucky Derby, Preakness and college hoops starting. That's such a loaded calendar. It's going to be fucking awesome that every day and every night we're going to have sports on our TV and can pick and choose what you want to watch. Don't want to have to only watch baseball? No problem. 

I also love that he didn't guarantee how the playoffs are going to be or that they are going 70 games and then moving or whatever. He just said that he knows the NBA is coming back. Also low key dropped the bomb on NHL and MLB too. I'm not going to take his word on that, although the NHL 24-team playoff sounds fucking awesome. 

And yes it's all going to be weird. We're going to have games without fans. We're going to have matchups in college football that might be more regional than anything else. We're going to have different playoffs. But fuck it, give us anything at this point.
