Cops Asking Cliff Alexander About His High School Hoops Ranking And Recruitment As They Arrest Him Is Is A Hell Of A Move

You might remember the name Cliff Alexander. He was arguably the No. 1 recruit in a class that featured Jahlil Okafor, Karl-Anthony Towns, Myles Turner, D'Angelo Russell, Kelly Oubre, Devin Booker, etc. Just a loaded class is what I'm getting at here. He also famously pulled off the biggest prank on Illinois basketball with his recruitment.

Alexander, from Chicago and the No. 2 overall recruit in 2014. He never really tipped his hand about where he was going and then had what had to be the most brutal commitment ceremony for Illinois fans. Alexander picked up the Illinois hat, faked everyone out, put it down and ultimately put on the Kansas hat. It led to reactions like this:

You hear the cop bring up Jahlil Okafor - they were rivals in high school. Both were rated as the No. 1 recruit in the class at one point, playing for Chicago public high schools, even playing each other in a quadruple overtime game in the city championship.

Then naturally he was forced to stop playing at Kansas in February of his freshman season due to an NCAA investigation. Just shocking that happened at Kansas - they never have NCAA investigations there. He ended up not getting drafted and bounced around the G league for a few years before playing overseas in France.

But I respect this move by the cop. He just wanted to talk hoops. What better time than when Cliff has literally nowhere to go? Pretty rude to bring up Jahlil Okafor though. Hey remember when you were No. 1 recruit in the country? Uh, actually that's Okafor. Oh right, okay, well come on over this way to the car!

PS: An all-time name in the class of 2014
