Movie Trailer Roundup - Christopher Nolan And Spike Lee Are Back!

Tenet (Trailer #2)

(Full Blog Here)

Da 5 Bloods

Not many people tell a story quite like Spike Lee. This looks incredible from an action standpoint, but I also love the buried treasure aspect as well. I'm extremely pumped to see how this turns out. It stars Delroy Lindo, Jonathan Majors, Clarke Peters, Norm Lewis, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Mélanie Thierry, Paul Walter Hauser, Jasper Pääkkönen, Jean Reno, and Chadwick Boseman.

The Old Guard

Theron is a bona fide action star, but I'm not totally sure about this one. It's almost like someone made the opening crawl of 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' into a feature-length movie. Besides Theron, it stars KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love and Basketball) directed this movie based on the comic book series by Greg Rucka. It comes out July 10th on Netflix.

Antebellum (Trailer #2)

We talked about this movie a little on LCB before, and I think it might be a huge dark horse. It looks fucking freaky and I will always love that. It stars Janelle Monáe, Marque Richardson, Eric Lange, Jack Huston, and more. It was co-directed by Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz and is schedule for release August 21st.

The Last Days of American Crime

Ehhhhhh no thanks. This stars Édgar Ramírez, who I love, Anna Brewster, Michael Pitt, and Sharlto Copley (who I also love). Hopefully it can change my mind! It was directed by Olivier Megaton (Taken 2) and comes out June 5th.

Exit Plan (Selvmordsturisten (Suicide Tourist))

I'm a big Nikolaj Coster-Waldau fan across the board. Besides Thrones, I loved him in 'Shot Caller' and many other projects. I can't tell much about this move, but the reviews from it's Danish release make it seem like it's just OK. It comes out June 12th.

Force of Nature

This doesn't look great, and it reminds me a lot of 'The Hurricane Heist' but I'm a sucker for a good arsenal scene. It stars Mel Gibson, Emile Hirsch, Kate Bosworth, David Zayas, and Stephanie Cayo. This comes of VOD June 30th.

Body Cam

I actually really like the idea of body cam thrillers, mostly because I enjoyed 'End of Watch'. There is definitely promise incorporating horror into that as well, but this trailer just doesn't look that great to me. It stars Mary J. Blige, Nat Wolff and David Zayas (again) and is directed by Malik Vitthal (Imperial Dreams). It comes to VOD May 19th.

Infamous

On its face, I like the idea a lot. A person in the social media age being so obsessed with being famous that it blurs the lines with infamous is interesting. Does this look like it was executed well? I don't know about that one, Chief. It stars Bella Thorne and Jake Manley, and was directed by Joshua Caldwell. The release date is June 12th.
