[Source] - “Oh you know I was hot. I was thinking about calling him at the time. … But you know what, that’s what I expect out of Mike because I would’ve said the same thing. I would’ve said the same thing. You know me, B. I’m not gonna admit to nothing, man. I’m not gonna admit to somebody that D’d me up or did nothing.
I’ll always tell you that any time in my career, nobody gave me problems but one person, and that’s John Stockton to me. That is just the way the game goes. I’m not mad at Mike because Mike didn’t have too many games that nobody D’d him up.”
You're telling me someone else is pissed about how they were viewed in The Last Dance? Shocking, just shocking. It's almost like it wasn't a true documentary or behind the scenes type stuff that it was hyped up to be and more the fact Jordan had creative control and could tell the story as he wanted to. What did you think was going to happen? He wasn't going to paint himself lightly - even if he said he would be viewed as a terrible person before the series was aired.
We now have Horace Grant, Scottie Pippen, George Karl and Gary Payton as people who have spoken up about either a lie or being pissed about how The Last Dance went. Honestly, I kinda love that GP is pissed here. It's just who Gary Payton is. The dude is a great player that talks a bunch of shit and get pissed. I have no problem with him getting mad at this:
I'm actually now rooting for this to happen. I want every guy that had a role in The Last Dance to come out complaining. Flip the script. I said that MJ was the biggest liar for that line he had about everyone thinking he was terrible before the series started. Feel like more and more people respect MJ more or love him more after watching those 10 episodes. I need everyone but Scott Burrell to complain about how they were viewed.
I really just want Gary Payton to have a mic in front of him at all times. Very few better at talking shit and/or cutting a promo than him. It's truly an art.
