The Bitcoin Halvening Happens Monday

Welcome back to Caleb's Crypto Corner: Your #1 source for all cryptocurrency related gossip and fodder.

On today's show, we are taking a shallow dive into "the halvening."

You may have seen some chatter or skitermadoo about this event, but if you're like me, you don't actually understand the nuts and bolts of it at all.

Essentially, it seems like on Monday the new supply of Bitcoins will be cut in half. Like the olympics, this happens every four years. Also like the olympics, many countries are involved and there will be winners and losers. A storyline that has never mattered before will shortly come into national focus, before disappearing weeks later just as quickly as it came. Just like the Olympics.

And as self-obsessed speculators, this event will force us to ask the obvious and omnipresent question: What's in it for us?

Yes, there is a lot of mumbo jumbo going on about how, in an era of unprecedented money printing, there has never been a better time for a truly deflationary currency unreliant on corrupt central governments... but that's not why you're here is it? You just want to know if this could end up making you a quadrillionaire, and you know what? Fair enough.

So here's my ill-advised advise: The price is probably going to pump a little bit, and then its going to fall back down to a reasonable number. Most likely below where it is now. Once that happens, then we're going in. All in. Everything we have. Life savings. Family members up for collateral. But, until then... we wait, and watch... and pretend we understand the inner workings of blockchain technology. Simple as that. You're welcome.
