Revis Was Who We Thought He Was
So ends the Darrelle Revis era in New England. As Schefter reports, he’s heading back to New York. I was wrong. No spin around that. I thought the PAts would step up and pay him but they didn’t and I was wrong. He’s the mercenary we thought he was. I’m not mad at him. He came and got us a Super Bowl then went and got his money. Wish he stayed but you can’t get mad at someone for being the person they were always honest about being. I’m also not ready to freak out. Belichick has earned that. First day free agency is for suckers, just like the first round of the draft. You build Super Bowls off the guys you get later. I’d expect Bill to bring Browner back to the table then go out there and continue building. What else can you say? Yup, we lost one of the best cornerbacks in football. Yup, we also have Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. As long as we have that I’m not going to jump off the Tobin or storm around the house. I’ve got faith. I don’t know where Jesus is taking me at the moment but I gave Bill the wheel a long, long time ago. Not about to take it back, as he’s never steered me wrong.
PS – Sounds like we need a hero corner to step up next year. Anyone know a guy?
