Make No Mistake About It: The Eagles Are Officially All In On Marcus Mariota

Let’s breathe, people.  The final trade is Nick The Dick and the Eagles 20th overall pick in exchange for Sam Bradford, the Rams 2015 10th pick as well as a conditional 2016 2nd round selection. (OK now AGAIN people are Tweeting that ESPN’s confirmation is wrong and there’s no 1st round pick exchange.  Obviously we’re on it and will update ASAP cause that’s like, real fucking huge).

This historical move wasn’t about Sam Bradford.  Hell, that poor guy (or as poor as someone with a billion dollars in the bank can be) probably had both ACL’s explode just from the shock hearing he’s traded.  No, no, no.  It actually wouldn’t surprise me if they cut him and eat the money.  This is about Chip doing his best Sam Hinkie impression and doing what he has to do to get his boy.  Chip’s got the keys and we have to let him do his damn thing.

Now, God help Chip Kelly if he doesn’t land his man, or even worse, gets him and fails.  This roster has officially been gutted to be Chip Kelly’s team and Chip Kelly’s team only.  Can you imagine if he falls in two years and skips out for a high paying PAC-12 position?  We’re talking a disaster of biblical proportion in this city.   5+ seasons of rebuild, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the ONLY thing we know right now is Chip Kelly is either being carried out of Philadelphia a hero or in a stretcher.  Time will tell.  But the push for Mariota is confirmed, and we’re all in.
