Have A Day Michigan Hoops: Hours After Top-10 Recruit Changed His Mind And Picked ASU, Another 5-Star Decommitted To Play Overseas Instead

Strong 14ish hours for Michigan hoops here. It started late last night when Joshua Christopher changed his mind late and decided to go to Arizona State instead of Michigan:

It was one of the weirder commitments I can remember lately. Every single person who is in the know had Christopher going to Michigan, despite his brother playing at Arizona State. The Crystal Ball had him at 90% at Michigan. A major blow for sure but not one that would destroy what Michigan was bringing in. They still had the 4th ranked class in the country with guys like Zeb Jackson (No. 69), Isaiah Todd (No. 10), Hunter Dickinson (No. 32) and Terrance Williams (No. 85). That also doesn't include Mike Smith, a high-level scorer transferring in from Columbia.

Well, that was until Todd decomitted and decided to go play overseas with an agent instead. If you talk to people around this all they will tell you it's not a major surprise it happened. But, the fact is it happened just hours after Joshua Christopher picked Arizona State. That's where it becomes a bigger story than if Todd just decided to go overseas instead.

That's before we even bring up the fact that we have no idea what overseas hoops will look like due to coronavirus. At the same time, this is starting to become more common - RJ Hampton and LaMelo Ball last year. There is a chance that Jalen Suggs and/or Jalen Green could join Todd overseas this year.

I did NOT expect to be blogging this much Michigan hoops in April:
