TAMPA (FOX 13) - The Bucs are denied by the Tennessee Titans the chance to talk with Mike Mularkey. Mularkey is under contract with the Titans as their tightends coach and the Bucs were seeking permission to interview him for the offensive coordinator position. It’s not a surprise given the Bucs history of denying teams in the past to talk with their assistant coach.

Mularkey was the tightends coach for the Bucs under Sam Wyche from 1994-95. He has also been a head coach for the Buffalo Bills and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Lovie Smith really doesn’t have to look too far in his search. Former Bears head coach Marc Trestman was spotted on Clearwater Beach with Bucs quarterback Josh McCown on Thursday. Speculation is that Trestman is being considered for the Bucs opening.

McCown played one year under Trestman in Chicago and had a glowing endorsement of him before leaving for the offseason this week. “I think Marc is an outstanding coach and an outstanding person and he has a great sense of offensive football, especially quarterback play,” McCown said. “I just know that, for me personally, I played my best football in my career under him. So obviously I have good things to say.”

Just when you thought the 2014 Chicago Bears were dead, Trestman and McCown combine the 2014, 2013, and 2012 Chicago Bears down in Tampa to run the league. Seriously though, if McCown, Trestman, and Lovie all get together and create a playoff team I may just have to kill myself. They’ll probably get Peanut and Briggs to come down and return to Pro Bowl status. Could you fucking imagine? The Bears are living in constant Murphy’s Law, anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Fuck me.

Trestman going tits out for the boys gives me the willies.
