The Good, The Bad And (Mostly) Ugly From The Eagles Spanking In Green Bay
Let’s face it, the Eagles got their shit pushed in yesterday. Hard. Nobody’s denying that. But let’s also remember how unlikely it was for them to win the game. The Packers and Aaron Rodgers are playing at historic levels right now at home. They’ve outscored opponents 128-6 in the first half of their last 4 home games. 128-6!!!!!!!! They’ll have to come back down to Earth soon, but Holy Hell. Even if the Eagles played flawless football they still might not have had a chance. I don’t even want to talk about it that much anymore, so here’s an abbreviated version of TGTBTU and let’s move on with our lives.
The Good:
Chip went all game without gloves. I guess that’s kind of bad ass.
Matthews and Maclin combined for 14 for 200 and two garbage time TD’s. Is that all the good? Because I think that’s all the good.
The Bad:
Sanchez - The stats don’t show it, but he didn’t play THAT bad until it got out of hand. In fact, he looked like he was one of the only guys giving them a chance in the 1st half. 2nd half? Not so much. Missed a LOT of open targets as well as made a couple of “Jets-like” boneheaded plays. Chalk it up to trying to do too much (I hope).
Shady - Come on, man. 23 carries for 88 yards? I expect those average numbers week in, week out from shit backs I’m forced to start in fantasy (Looking at you, Deangelo Williams you cocksmith). We need bigger production from the NFL’s reigning rushing title holder. No excuses.
The Ugly:
These plays (among about 45 shit moments but don’t want to crash the mainframe)-
Matt Tobin continues to get exposed for being a JV player on a Varsity field.
THE ENTIRE SECONDARY BUT ESPECIALLY CARY WILLIAMS AND BRADLEY FLETCHER PICK IT THE FUCK UP MEN.
Everyone else, but Josh Huff especially.
That’s all. Let’s put it behind us and get the Titans on Sunday, even though the only 3 games left on the schedule that really matter are Dallas, Seattle and Dallas.
