Phils Win 3 In A Row? Ken Giles Makes His Debut? Is This Real Life?

Is there hope? Nope. But at least they’re somewhat watchable. I mean, there’s only so much you can take of the losing streaks, little league mistakes and overall apathy of this squad. Ryan Howard leads the league in K’s (whiffed on his only PH AB today) and Marlon Byrd is right on his tail in 2nd. They’re awful. But it’s good to see they’re balancing out losing six in a row with a three game winning street. Hooray for progress! Jimmy Rollins is now 2 hits away from tying Michael Jack Schmidt’s all-time hit’s record as a Phillie. Figure he’ll break the record on Saturday, waive his no-trade clause by Sunday and be a Detroit Tiger by Monday. Can’t say I’d hate it if we get something decent back.

The best part of today is highly touted prospect Ken Giles made his major league debut. Nothing like letting your nuts hang low with a 100mph heater on your first pitch in the big leagues. Sure, he let up a HR shortly after, but welcome to the show Kenny G. Don’t fuck it up.

Giles also had a sweet ERA of infinity for a bit:

I am physically disgusted by every single batting average in that graphic. Embarrassing.
