Wake Up With "If It Isn't Love" From Boston's Own New Edition

One of the best talents this city has produced is New Edition. Cranked out hit after hit as they went from, um, boys to men. Set the bar for a singing and dancing group in the '80s. Any boy band from last 35 years traces their DNA back to Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Mike, and Ralph (and later Johnny). The were on top for awhile before the crazy mofo Bobby Brown got kicked out of the group by the other members for being Bobby Brown. He went on to his wildly successful solo act and was replaced by Johnny Gill. Eventually, Ralph Tresvant and Gill released solo albums as Ricky Bell, Ronnie DeVoe, and Michael Bivins became the new jack swing kings Bell Biv Devoe. All six eventually all got back together for a handful of tours years after establishing themselves as R&B titans.

BET did an awesome New Edition biopic-series a couple years ago. Here's a piece I wrote about it.
