The only logical thing to do when one market is a big, fat question mark is to lock up the one that's not. And since no one knows what the hell the 2020 NFL season is going to look like - let alone your future in football if you're Jameis Winston - you gotta secure what you can secure.
Sure, Winston put a ring on it almost 2 years ago, but then Corona stepped in and postponed the wedding... to his high school sweetheart. Let's do some quick math here: drafted in 2015, FSU freshman in 2012, high school senior also in 2012 which means that he and Breion Allen have been together a minimum of 8 years.
If your wedding gets postponed because a virus no one could have predicted takes over the world, sure you're disappointed at first, but eventually you accept it and are just grateful to be alive and well.
If you've been with someone for 8 YEARS and your wedding gets postponed because a virus no one could have predicted takes over the world and puts your fiance "in a funk," you find a way to make that wedding happen. Ain't no mountain high enough, ain't no valley low enough type shit. Or more specifically in Winston's case: roses petals, twinkle lights and someone to perform the service.
Honestly, this is the way to get married! (Minus COVID-19.) None of the bullshit people-pleasing things that go along with the ceremony and reception, just two people promising their lives to one another in an intimate, private ceremony that's followed by some bombass cake and the reassurance you did it right when your partner posts "It seemed it was meant to be this way all along."
Congrats on the W, Winstons.
