Assistant Taunton Hockey Coach Arrested For Fighting A Ref After The Game

FOXBOROA Taunton High School assistant hockey coach was arrested Wednesday night in an altercation with a referee on the ice after a loss to King Philip Regional High School — and Attleboro Police Chief Kyle Heagney helped detain the man. The incident occurred at the Foxboro Sports Center following Taunton’s 9-1 loss to King Philip. No players were on the ice at the time Heagney said the coaches were leaving the ice when the Taunton assistant approached the referee. “The referee was just listening. The coach was venting. He was angry. You could tell by his body language,” Heagney said. He said the assistant coach chest-bumped the referee, then grabbed the referee’s jersey. The referee lost balance as the coach bent backwards, Heagney said. “At that point, other people came to break it up,” Heagney said, and by that time the coach was swinging his arms. “I was shocked to see it,” Heagney said. “It was uncanny.” “I’ve never seen anything like it in my 20 years on the ice. It was very unprofessional. It sends the wrong message to kids.”

Weirdest story ever. Not so much a coach getting in a fight with a ref, but getting in a fight with a ref after losing 9-1. Bro pretty sure it wasn’t the ref’s fault you got smoked. That’s why it’s sending the wrong message to the kids. You shouldn’t be beating up the ref. You should be doing suicides in the dark till they puke. But that’s society nowadays. Everything is everybody else’s fault. That’s how you end up with fat ugly protesters sitting in the middle of 93 South during rush hour.
