Legends Of The Pits: Ms. Tootsie From Snow's BBQ
You think of legends like Vince Carter, Jaromir Jagr, Nolan Ryan and I guess for the sake of argument here we can go with Tom Brady. All are Hall of Famers. All are some of the greatest to ever do it. And all were still able to be at the top of their game even after having careers longer than some of their competitors were even alive. The NBA has theirs. The NHL has theirs. The MLB and the NFL have theirs. And for BBQ...well for BBQ, that's Ms. Tootsie.
84 and this legend is still dominating the pits. She was inducted into the BBQ Hall of Fame. She was a James Beard Award semifinalist. And do you think she plans on stopping anytime soon just because she's racked up the awards and fame? Not a damn chance in hell. The same way Tom Brady has no plans on retiring even after winning 6 Super Bowl rings. Because when you get to this level of legendary status, it's all for the love of the game. And nobody loves the game more than Ms. Tootsie.
Icon. Machine. Bad ass. All of the above. Again, she's been doing it longer than plenty of other pitmasters out there have been alive and she's still crushing it harder than ever. Ms. Tootsie is someone you'd go to war for but then she'd yell at you because she could handle the war herself. That's what being a legend is all about.
