Massive Drama At The Hype House As Daisy Keech Reportedly Sues Fellow Co-Founder Thomas Petrou

You may remember my blog back in January about the Hype House:

A quick recap for anybody who doesn't understand TikTok: the biggest and best TikTok stars all assembled to live in an LA house together to make #content. I hate using the term brilliant when discussing these TikTok stars, but the Hype House was 100% a brilliant move (relatively). Most of the stars in the house blew up more than they would have ever even dreamed of if they were never together.

With any brilliant move, the maker of said brilliant move wants credit. In the New York Times article, the proper credit was given to Thomas Petrou and Daisy Keech for being "co-founders." For reference, this is Thomas Petrou:

And Daisy Keech (on the left)

At this point of the blog, I should mention that Daisy Keech is 20 years old. Back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Daisy and Thomas were the masterminds behind the Hype House. Unfortunately, somewhere along the line, beef arose. Daisy thought Thomas was getting too much credit. You'd think this beef would just play out on TikTok, but nope, it's going to court.

SOURCE-But in a development that illuminates the complexity of collaboration, Insider reports that a potentially nasty legal fissure may be brewing between two of the organization’s early members: 20-year-old influencer Daisy Keech (pictured above, left), and frequently-credited Hype House co-founder Thomas Petrou (above, right) — a 20-year-old vlogger who was formerly affiliated with Jake Paul‘s OG creator collective, Team 10

I have noticed for awhile that Daisy Keech has not been in the Hype House. Instead, she has been TikTok'ing with Abby Rao:

Am I complaining? Absolutely not. Why? Look with your eye, dumb dumb.

At this point of the blog, I should mention that Abby Rao is 22 years old. Back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Anyways, back to the lawsuit. This all started thanks to a merch post in January and a trademark filed by the father of Lil Huddy (the third founder of the Hype House, who is the biggest male star on TikTok).

Keech’s lawyer, Chris Young, tells Insider that frustrations came to a head when Petrou referenced Hype House merch in an Instagram post in January, whereupon he received a cease-and-desist letter, requesting that he obtain Keech’s consent before using the name. Then, in February, another application to trademark ‘The Hype House’ was filed by a company called The Hype House LLC — with one of the primary contacts on the application being listed as Hudson’s father, Cole.

“I’m not being portrayed as who I really am — the business mind that I do have and everything that I brought to The Hype House and did for The Hype House,” Keech tells Insider. “So I just got a little bit frustrated, you know? And I wanted to come and share my story.”

It was only a matter of time before the Hype House found themselves in the middle of massive drama. It appears that drama won't happen on TikTok, though. It will happen in a lawyer's office. There is big money to be made on TikTok and if you think there aren't bigtime media lawyers looking to get their fair share, I don't know what to tell ya.

Me? I'm Team Daisy. I don't see myself flipping anytime soon. If you need any legal help, let me know, Daisy. I'm not a lawyer, but I'll definitely pretend to be one.
