Kevin Willard Went On Radio 'Really Pissed Off' That Creighton Cut Down Nets And Put Up A Co-Big East Champs Banner Right In Seton Hall's Face

[Source] - “I’m really pissed off that people are cutting down the nets and my guys are down there [in the locker room],” Willard said in his postgame radio interview with Gary Cohen and Dave Popkin following the No. 8 Pirates’ loss to No 11 Creighton.

Honestly, this was one of the more hilarious and weird things over the weekend. Creighton beat Seton Hall - pretty good! Hell, they won the Big East! But, Seton Hall won the Big East, two weeks ago. So what does Creighton do? They dropped a banner directly in Seton Hall's face, I'm talking like a minute after the game ended they had this banner ready to go. 

On one hand, I don't have a problem with Creighton going nuts. They never won the Big East before. They swept Seton Hall. They technically are the 1 seed in the Big East Tournament, so they have the tiebreaker if you want to go that route. Plus we're talking about college kids. Celebrate however the damn well you please, rules don't exist in college. Oh, it's also fucking hilarious to celebrate directly in the face of the team you beat for a share of the Big East. That's something I'm very here for. 

Now on the other hand, Seton Hall won the Big East a week prior! Granted, all they had to do was either beat Nova at home Creighton on the road and they won outright, they still won the Big East. Celebrating a share of the Big East regular season title is a bit premature to say the least. Oh and news might be even worse for Creighton: 

Yeah, this is pretty important. Not only is Zegarowski the best player on Creighton, the Blue Jays are also 9 teams competing for 10 spots (on the 2/3 seed line behind San Diego State/Dayton). If they lose in the quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament, that means they could slide to a 4 seed depending what happens elsewhere. It's nearly impossible to separate Creighton, Nova, Seton Hall, Maryland, Michigan State, Kentucky, Oregon, Duke, FSU and Louisville right now for those spots. 

That said I really wish Willard brought his guys out and cut down the other nets. Just celebrate right back in their face. Fair is fair.
