Ben Cherrington Magically Gets Two Prospects From The Giants For Peavy

Once again incredible work by Cherington. How you get two prospects (I’m not going to pretend to have knowledge of the Giants farm system, but I read both were top ten prospects there) in return for a guy with one win is beyond me. I think most people would have been happy getting a nice panoramic picture of the Golden Gate Bridge back. And I feel bad for being happy about this. By all accounts, Peavy was a great guy and we don’t win the World Series without him. He was a huge deadline acquisition. I loved his passion, loved that he packed huge chews, loved that he embraced the city. But when you give up a home run like every 6 pitches and can’t get a W to save your life, run support be damned, then you’ve gotta jump in your duckboat and get out of town.
