Fucking Finally! It Appears The NHL Will Be Amending The Offside Rule
FINALLY! I've been screaming from the rooftops every time the Bruins get fucked over by an offsides challenge when it usually has no bearing on the play. This review rule was made for the Matt Duchene's of the world who are a million miles offside yet the refs call it good.
It's actually laugh out loud funny how offsides he was.
Per Dreger, the NHL will be amending it so skates in the air and breaking the plane will be part of the change. If someone is offside by a fraction and it has no bearing on the play and goal being scored, then it should absolutely be called a goal (especially if it was called goal on the ice). Pretty sure the B's have gotten 4+ goals called off this season after offsides challenges and maybe ONE of those was legit.
This was back in November… a month into the season. 3 goals off the board.
It's still going to be iffy to see what happens and how they call it and review it. But right now the 2+ minute review for a skate being a hair off is just so dumb. We'll see what happens.
Finally the NHL is doing something right!
