Baseball Porn: Rizzo & Kris Bryant Mic'd Up For Joe Maddon's Spring Training Revenge Game

Earlier today I said that sports broadcasting is tricky because you never know when you're gonna get big moments. Blah blah blah. 

Well guess what. 

Carl lied. 

The broadcasters today knew exactly what type of moments they were creating in Joe Maddon's 1st game against the Cubs. In a seemingly unprecedented move, Rizzo and KB were mic'd up for 5.5 innings including their at bats. Direct communication with each other and the broadcast booth like a seasoned NFL referee crew working the 3:05 Chiefs Chargers game.

Then probably best of all is when Rizzo and KB stayed on in the 5th inning to interview Joe Maddon. Boog asked them if they had another inning in them specifically to talk to Joe in the 5th. I won't bullshit you guys, I got a little emotional with how quickly Anthony Said "YES ABSOLUTELY" … then listening to them go back and forth mid-game brought me to my knees. No matter where they go, these boys are the 2016 World Series Champions. "We're brothers" - Kris Bryant. And I'm the distant 2nd cousin that's not allowed within 1,000 feet of the family reunion. But this isn't about me. It's about the Cubs and how sweet this broadcast is. 

I know it's unreasonable (generally), but don't tell me the Kansas City Royals / Detroit Tigers noon game on a Wednesday in July while they're both double digits out of first place wouldn't be made immensely better with a broadcast like this. Don't tell me that because I gave up being mean for Lent and I just might have to kill you.
