You Have My Attention: Hilary Duff Wants The New 'Lizzie McGuire' On Hulu So She Doesn't Have To Live 'Under A PG Ceiling'

[Variety] - Duff’s comments come after Variety exclusively reported on the behind-the-scenes issues that saw “Lizzie McGuire” creator and revival showrunner Terri Minsky be removed from that role on the show. Duff and Minsky wanted to do a more adult version of Lizzie for the revival, while Disney wants a show that would appeal to kids and families, something more akin to the original series. Sources say Disney was initially on board with Minsky and Duff’s take, but the company decided to move in a different direction with the series after the first two episodes were completed.

Hell yeah. You know who probably loves this the most? The biggest friend zone guy in the world in Gordo. He's giddy hearing Lizzie McGuire/Hilary Duff say she doesn't want this PG shit. And don't pretend like you don't know who Gordo is, everyone watched at least one episode of Lizzie McGuire, it was a staple on the Disney Channel.

But this is how you get people interested in a reboot. Sure, we all love the old days when we were growing up, but you know what we like more? This. Lizzie McGuire as a non-PG version is something that I'd tune in and watch at least an episode of - for content reasons, obviously. It's also just true. What 30-year old is living a boring ass PG life?

Does this look like someone who can be held down by a PG ceiling?

I don't think so. Now play some of the jams:

We already saw what Hilary allegedly likes to do when she gets proposed to (if you know, you know), no reason to be held back because of PG ceilings. We need realistic expectations here and a 30-year old Lizzie McGuire isn't just a boring mom. No doubt about that.
