Tuukka Rask's Streak Of Being Undefeated In Regulation At Home Has Come To An End After Ugly Loss To Flames

Tuukka Rask suffered his first regulation loss of the season as the B's lost an ugly one to the Flames tonight.

Matthew Tkachuk opened the scoring, buried a rebound from a shot from the blue line. Charlie McAvoy with the turnover in the offensive zone to start the play. Tough D all around. 1-0 Flames.

Midway though the 2nd Brad Marchand tied the game with a shorty. He is now the team leader in short handed goals with 27 in his career. Unreal. 1-1.

Another flub in the offensive zone led to another Flames goal. Soft play by David Pastrnak allowed Sean Monahan to regain the lead for the Flames. 2-1.

Five seconds into the Flames PP they extended their lead to 3-1. Matt Grzelcyk in the box for "roughing", Dube took a run at McAvoy and Grzelcyk shoved him. Joke of a call. 2 goals in 1:12 for Calgary.

Chris Wagner gave the Bruins life late in the 3rd to cut the Flames lead to 1.

With 1:30 left Mikael Backlund put the dagger in the Bruins. 4-2 Flames.

Backlund added an ENG to make it 5-2 Flames.

FINAL: Calgary 5, Boston 2

News, notes and quotes:

- We got our first look at Nick Ritchie on the 3rd line with Coyle and Bjork. Once the Flames took a 3-1 lead Cassidy moved him up to play with Krejci and moved DeBrusk down with Coyle. Thought he was okay, had a few hits. Not gonna write him off after one game.

- Too many passengers tonight. Fourth line was buzzing tonight. Best game I've seen Wagner play this year, he's got 2 goals in 2 games. But, that being said it's not great when your fourth line is the best line on the ice all night. Pretty awful game all around outside those 3, and outside the few PP chances they had earlier in the game.

- Coyle got bumped up to PP1 as the net front guy. Like I said, B's had a few chances early in the game but couldn't convert.

- Brad Marchand is now the all time leader in Boston Bruins history in shorthanded goals in his career, scored his 27th tonight (25th goal of the actual season).

- Tuukka Rask suffered his 1st regulation loss at home this season after 21 games. Just an insane run.

- Jaro Halak was honored with a pregame ceremony for his 500th NHL game.

Back to back losses for the Bruins. Thought they were gonna push (they did, to an extent) when Wagner made it a one goal game but then shit fell apart once again. Ugly game. Flush it. Onto the next.

B's are back Thursday night agains the Dallas Stars. Ondrej Kase will likely make his debut. I believe Jaro will be in net Thursday and then Tuukks back in Saturday vs. the Islanders.
