Danton Heinen Has Been Traded To The Anaheim Ducks For Nick Ritchie

Oh? I knew Heinen's time was coming to an end when the B's got Ondrej Kase but I for sure thought he'd be in a package for Palmieri or a bigger name. Ritchie is on a cheap deal at a shade under $1.5 mil per. He's a bigger body (6 ft 2, 230 pounds) who will compete for a spot in the bottom six. The 1 for 1 trade does clear up about 1.3ish million in space for the Bruins. I'm lukewarm to the trade right now. Clears cap space, but still think there was a bigger piece to be had (if this is it for Sweeney). We'll see what Ritchie can bring but Heinen's time seemed to be up regardless.

Ritchie has 8 goals, 11 assists for 19 points in 41 games this year. Obviously the Bruins signed his brother Brett in the offseason, but he's currently injured playing in Providence in the AHL.

Still 2 and a half hours left until the deadline. Stay tuned. I'll have a longer blog later after the deadline is over with all the Bruins trades that will be a little longer of a read. But right now I want Don to bring me Joe Thornton.

p.s I'm out of Twitter jail.
