I Could Not Be Happier That The Caps Just Traded For Ilya Kovalchuk

I cannot explain how much I love this trade. Let me put it this way- you know how there’s a random player you’d always trade for in NHL for PS2? That was Ilya Kovalchuk for me. He was so filthy in Atlanta I would always bring him to the Caps and now he’s wearing a Capitals sweater for real and I could not be more excited. 

Yeah sure he's 36 years old and can be a pain in the ass, but it's Ilya Kovalchuk!!! He can slot in nicely on the 3rd or 4th line and be a great spark. 

I love this move. Just like when we traded for Sergei Fedorov (people forget he retired as a Washington Capital), Russians come to DC and play better than expected. He'll fit right in with Ovi, Orlov, Kuzi, and Samsonov.

PS: Classic lame stream media not giving me credit for breaking this story on Christmas. I'll keep grinding though.

PS: I'm not a jersey guy but also 100% chance I'm buying a Kovalchuk Caps jersey. No questions asked. Just one of those things, you know? Like, getting flashbacks of playing NHL '07. Simpler times. I'm so happy right now. Full circle type shit for me.
