I'm Reporting That The Guy Reporting That OBJ Could Go To The Jets Is A Bad Reporter

SI.com is a reputable source, right? So when I saw this pop up on my timeline today, I absolutely had to click it. That's my wide receiver we're talking about here! Are there new trade rumors I'm missing? Did OBJ say he wants traded? Because last I checked, OBJ was set on STAYING.

But I guess things could've changed in two months, so I decided to check it out....

Amid speculation and rumor that the game’s most talented wide receiver might be the center of an offseason trade from the Cleveland Browns, it might be the New York Jets and not the New York Giants that could be a destination for Beckham . An NFL source told SportsIllustrated.com that if Beckham is traded, he would view the Jets as an ideal landing spot.

"Might be the center of an offseason trade". And the New York Jets "could be a destination for Beckham".

Is this real? I had to go through zero years of journalism school to earn my platform in this industry, and now we're giving guys like this the freedom to publish whatever they want? I guess anyone with a keyboard can type these days. So what did I work so hard for? I'm sick. But again, I kept reading:

The league source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said that if Beckham is moved by the Browns after just a single season in Cleveland, that the Jets could be a possible team for him.

"IF Beckham is moved……the Jets COULD be a possible team".

Yeah, no shit this "source" wanted to speak on the condition of anonymity. He doesn't have anything concrete to say….if he's even a real person. The Jets could be a possible team. Hard-hitting stuff. Here let me break some more news: Tom Brady COULD go to the Patriots, Jets, Dolphins, Bills, Bengals, Browns, Steelers, Ravens, Texans, Colts, Jaguars, Titans, Chargers, Broncos, Chiefs, Raiders, Packers, Lions, Vikings, Bears, 49ers, Seahawks, Cardinals, Rams, Saints, Falcons, Panthers, or Bucs.

Report that. Credit: Ohio's Tate.

The source also said that it is his understanding that Beckham isn’t actively seeking a move from Cleveland, just simply that a return to New York could be welcomed by the star.

Wait, so this guy is saying that IF Beckham is moved (even though he doesn't want to be moved), New York could potentially be a spot where he's moved to (even though he doesn't want to be moved). Got it. Get your #13 Jets jerseys now, folks. He's coming.

That isn’t to say that the Jets would necessarily want Beckham let alone give up the assets needed to land one of the league’s top wide receivers. But there could certainly be an appeal for the Jets.

What are you reporting here, buddy? Now you're saying the Jets aren't necessarily interested in Beckham. Let me review this for the readers:

1. Odell doesn't want to be traded

2. The Browns new head coach has said he doesn't want Odell to be traded

3. The Jets wouldn't necessarily want to trade for Odell

WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT HERE? Leave my receiver's name out of your mouth. He's a Cleveland Brown. He wants to be a Cleveland Brown. And the Cleveland Browns want him. Find a new slant, Jets. Or learn to cover one.
