New Book Chronicles The Time Mike Tyson Almost Fought Michael Jordan At Dinner

NY Post – Oh, to be a fly on the wall at that dinner party. The night an angry young heavyweight boxing champion by the name of Mike Tyson sat down to eat with basketball superstar Michael Jordan. Tyson’s longtime friend and manager Rory Holloway recalls the dinner in his new book, “Taming the Beast: The Untold Story of Mike Tyson.” He was present at the Chicago restaurant along with Tyson, Jordan, Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka, star defensive end Richard Dent and boxing promoter Don King. It happened sometime after Tyson had divorced his first wife, actress Robin Givens, and he was taking the separation hard. What made the situation explosive was that Jordan had dated Givens before she met Tyson. “Mike Tyson’s sitting there with his drink of choice, a Long Island Tea, and when he drinks his real feelings come out …,” Holloway writes. “I’m telling the server to water his drinks down ‘cause I see where this is going. Mike stares across the table at Michael Jordan. He says, ‘Hey man, you think I’m stupid? I know you f—-d with my b—h.’ “Jordan looks like he just seen a ghost. ‘I know you messed with her,’ Mike says. ‘You can tell me.’ “Jordan, it’s obvious he just wants to get up and run. He wants no part of this. Mike turns to Ditka. ‘Man, you think somebody scared of you, all that racist s–t you been talking?’ He says to Dent, ‘Y’all scared of this damn white man, Richard? He ain’t nobody. You gonna let him talk that way?’ “It was a circus, for real, that night. Don King trying to change the subject. Me and John trying to hold Mike down. Mike telling everyone he’s going to bust Jordan’s ass. Jordan’s dressed sharp as always and he can’t get out of there fast enough.”

What an absolutely outrageous dinner table. Tyson. Jordan. Ditka. Sparks flying between 2 of the greatest Mike’s the sports world have ever seen. Coach sitting there as perhaps the most awkward 3rd wheel of all time. All over a piece of pussy. I absolutely love these kind of stories. They read like Tall Tales or Urban Legends or some shit. I need like a definitive compilation of all the untold off the court, behind the scenes stories of all the great athlete superstars.

I just cant imagine MJ really was as afraid as this memoir made it sound. I mean I know Tyson is Tyson. An absolutely lunatic and there’s no doubt in my mind he could murder anybody on the planet in his prime, especially if you’ve fucked his ex wife. But Jordan was a maniac himself. A competitive freak and the cockiest athlete of all time. There’s no way MJ would back down and cower away like this. Right? Unless Tyson really was that scary. Entirely possible. A shitfaced, angry Tyson might put the fear of God in anybody, including His Airness. I just feel for Coach Ditka. Sitting there being called a racist and shit. Whats Mike Ditka got to do with any of this, Mike?

PS – How about Robin Givens? Fucked Tyson and Jordan? Had at least 2 of the greatest athletes of all time run up in her. I mean I know she was a sexy black chick but to land that kind of dick is pretty crazy. I wonder who else has been up in there.
