NJ.Com - The Eagles have even more serious concerns — Jackson’s continued association with reputed Los Angeles street gang members who have been connected to two homicides since 2010. Ever since New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was arrested and charged with first-degree murder last summer, NFL franchises have been reevaluating how closely they needed to watch their players away from the field. And what Eagles executives see in Jackson, a six-year veteran, is apparently a potential blight on the brand and a bad influence in the locker room. As a source within the Eagles organization, who requested anonymity, put it: “They are concerned about having him around the younger players.”
Imagine if the Pats signed Desean Jackson? Roger Goodell’s heads would explode. I mean the Eagles are basically saying they cut him because he has gang ties or some shit like that. So what would the rest of the league do if Belichick swooped in and picked him up despite these rumors. Like yeah the last gang guy we had is in jail for a billion murders, but that was the last gang guy. You can’t judge one gang affiliated NFL member by another. That’s not fair. It would be such a big FU to the rest of the world. I kind of need it to happen just for the sport of it. Just to watch all the talking heads freak out as Belichick smirked at them. We can be the team that rehabilitates murderous gang affiliated NFL football players. Probably be pretty competitive that way.
PS – In other NFL news dunking over the goal post is still illegal.
