"Too Many Cooks" Might Be The Weirdest Thing I've Ever Seen On The Internet

Alright so this aired a couple nights ago at like 4am during Adult Swim’s infomercials. Sandwiched in between your generic informercials they just slipped Too Many Cooks in without notice. And I gotta be perfectly honest, its the weirdest fucking thing I’ve ever seen. People are going NUTS for it. Number 1 on Reddit. People calling it the funniest bit of comedy they’ve ever seen. Breaking down and analyzing the meaning behind. Its surreal.

The quick summary is that its basically a spoof of every 80s television show ever, with an opening credits theme song that lasts 11 minutes as they introduce every stereotypical TV character from that era. From family sitcoms to outerspace sci fi, there are too many cooks. The common theme through out is this creepy Yellow King type of murderer:

He first appears at the 33 second mark:

and then he appears hidden in the background at 1:17, 1:41, 1:57, 2:07, 2:27, 3:05, 3:18, 3:19, and 3:43 before he starts chopping people’s heads off.

The people on Reddit and all over the internet are analyzing the meaning behind it all. How television now has too many cooks and thats spoiling the broth. Every plot and every character is cliche and over done. One dude speculated that the machete murderer is actually the hero, just trying to contain the outbreak of lame TV. Thats why every time his name tries to pop up in the credits, it gets fuzzy. Lotta other people said their heads just fucking exploded when they were watching this stoned. All in all its one of the weirdest things I’ve ever seen take the internet by storm. Almost 12 minutes of absolute insanity that I’m sure has dozens of layers that can be explored.

All I know for sure is that you’ll be singing “TOO MANY COOKS! Toooo mannnny coooks!” all day long.
