Former Johnny Utah's Employees Suing Management For Making Them Take Their Clothes Off And Kiss And Break Their Legs Riding The Bull

Gothamist – Local despair hole Johnny Utah’s is in trouble again, and it’s not even because the mechanical bull shattered another’s femur. Former employees have filed a class action lawsuit against the bar’s management for allegedly forcing female staff to disrobe and kiss each other while riding the mechanical bull, according to a lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday. According to the Post, the suit also alleges that female servers are “subjected to pervasive and regular unwelcome sexual comments, propositions, and physical contact by male customers.” To wit, women are “expected to encourage” male patrons to buy them shots, sit on male customer’s laps, dance on the bar and pour shots of alcohol into customers’ mouths. Failure to don a bikini top and splash in a kiddie pool without the requisite amount of glee during the bar’s noxious sounding “beach parties” allegedly means the risk of termination.

Lemme ask these girls a question – when you apply to work at Johnny Utah’s, what exactly are you expecting? You think you’re gonna be a “server” at some sort of 5 star restaurant? You think you’re gonna be a mixologist or something? No. You’re being hired to dance on the bar, ride the bull, share lesbian kisses and entertain the guys. Thats the whole point of Johnny Utah’s. Thats why the Barstool New York Launch Party was there almost 5 years ago. Thats the only reason anybody would ever really go there. Without waitresses being exploited sexually, Johnny Utah’s ceases to exist basically.

So if you dont wanna wear a bikini and wrestle and kiss and ride the bull and break your legs and shit, then go get a job somewhere else. You just don’t fit the job description. Maybe Johnny Utah’s needs to update their job criteria to specify “Sexy bi-curious girls with low, low standards” but I think thats kind of understood when you work at a place like that.
