Fans Of Japanese Soccer Team Using Cardboard Cut Outs Of People To Fill Their Stadium
USA Today – When two of the worst J-League teams meet, it can be difficult to fill up the stadium. Omiya Ardija, located in Saitama (just north of Tokyo), traveled 400 miles south to Tokushima to play Tokushima Vortis — and understandably, not many away fans made the journey to support their team. To fill up the away section at Naruto Athletic Stadium, fans put cardboard cutouts in the empty seats.
I can’t imagine a sporting event worse than the 2 last place teams in a Japanese soccer league. Thats gotta be the worst live game on the planet earth. But you gotta tip your cap to these diehards, man. Trying to fill out that stadium. These guys are like The 7 Line at Citi except the 7 Line somehow gets actual, living, breathing people to head out to Flushing.
Maybe this is the tactic the Yankees need to use. They haven’t ever been able to fill those seats behind home plate, even with a winning team. This year’s team fucking sucks. Just bite the bullet and put up cardboard cutouts in Jeter jerseys and Mariano jerseys and jus desperately try to hang on to the good old times.
