Prayers fucking answered! 4th round pick in exchange for the exclusive rights to negotiate with Halak before he becomes a free agent July 1. If he doesn’t sign, they keep their pick. So its really a no risk situation, trading one of their three 4th round picks, in exchange for the ability to sign this guy before he hits the open market. Which all indications are point towards him signing long term because the Isles have a boatload of cap space.

Aside from any night we gotta play the Caps or the Blues, Halak should be money! Finally a legitimate option in goal which was obviously the most important piece of the puzzle the Islanders needed to address. You know what this means, don’t you? FIRE UP THE BANDWAGON! ALL ABOARD!
