Uh Oh, Did Anthony Davis Just Take The First Step To Potentially Leave The Lakers?

Now, using a rational brain this move by AD and Klutch is a 1000000% a formality. You have to be an idiot if you are a big time pending free agent to take the in season extension. You lose so much money doing that it makes no sense whatsoever and any agent that advises his client to take that extension should be fired immediately. Especially when you are the caliber of player that AD is and you can bank on getting that $200M offer this summer no matter what happens the rest of the season. Doesn't matter if he has some sort of horrific injury like KD, he's getting that money this summer you can take that to the bank. There's also the whole thing of no real good team even having the money to afford AD in the first place but those are simply semantics. Don't get caught up in the facts here, you have to think outside the box.

All I ask is that you simply look at the facts of this situation. Way back in late July there were rumblings about how he was considering one day playing in Chicago

Then in August we once again heard rumblings that AD could be on the move after this season, with Klutch even leaking they like the idea of him being in NYC. He wouldn't commit to shit when talking with Rachel Nichols about it all

then in November he had this to say

and now here we are and Davis has officially turned down an extension and is free to go wherever he wants this summer. Could be the Lakers, could be somewhere else. The point is we've seen some crazy shit in free agency recently when it comes to star players and where they end up, and even if it's a 0.00000000001% chance that AD leaves and goes somewhere else, at least that chance exists as of this moment. What if the Lakers underachieve in the West and don't win the title or even make the Finals? Let me ask you this, the last time AD turned down an extension what happened? Oh that's right he left. When Kyrie Irving turned down his in season extension in Boston, what happened? Oh right he left.

All I'm saying is you line all these instances up and you can't ignore it. What's the saying, where there's smoke there's fire? AD could have simply decided to take a team friendly deal to help give the Lakers more cap space to build around him for the future if he was 1000000% sold on being a Laker for the rest of his career, but instead he turned that option down. Those are the facts whether you want to accept them or not.

I think this is where all the Lakers fans who comment on every one of my blogs post 5 comments in a row talking about how this is nothing and the Celtics stink and blah blah blah. Totally normal behavior from a fanbase that isn't even a little concerned about a potential AD departure.
