When You Grow a 5 Inch Dragon Horn On Your Back It Might Be Time To See a Doctor

Source

Recently, doctors in the UK surgically removed a 14cm-long “dragon horn” from a man’s lower back. The 50-year-old patient reported that it had been growing for at least three years.

The doctors determined that the “gigantic” skin growth was a cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC)—a type of skin cancer that causes growing, scaly bumps on the top layer of skin.

I tend to be a person who doesn't go to the doctor regularly. I'd rather not know. It's a horrible trend that I really need to change as I get up there in age and continue to eat like a 7 year old. I'll randomly get a pain in my left arm or my chest and just pray that isn't the last straw. It goes away and I carry on with my life. Idiot. It'll catch up to me soon and you'll all go back to this blog as the reason why I met my demise so early.

Having said all of that, if I started growing a fucking dragon horn like Drogon on my back I'd probably go to the doctor and have it checked out. It took this man 3.5 years to say, "You know what? This seems troublesome. I'm not sure this is part of the human growing plan. Let's see what a doctor says." I refuse to put a picture of the dragon horn in this blog, but here's a link if you're feeling sick in the head. Credit to me for not ruining your day just now. You can choose that path on your own.

This guy lived in a developed country with free healthcare and thought slowly turning into Godzilla wasn't a health issue. To be fair, turning into Godzilla or some kind of dragon would be sick. Breathing fire at any moment is something I've dreamed of since I was a kid. Getting skin cancer so bad that you develop a 5 inch horn on your back is not something I've dreamed of. How do you even go on with your life with that thing on your back? Sitting in a chair and leaning back? Sleeping? How does that 5 inch horn not impede your everyday life? The stubbornness of this man is greater than anything I've ever come across. Convincing Liz she's wrong about something (me everyday sitting next to her) vs. convincing this man to go to the doctor. An unstoppable force meets an unmovable object.

Moral of the story: If you get the sense there's a dragon horn growing on your back, maybe ask like one person to give their opinion of what you should do. If you're feeling extra cautious, go see a doctor. We're looking out for each other in 2020. No dragon horns.
