Vince Wilfork Out For the Season
ATLANTA — New England Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork has a torn right Achilles tendon and almost certainly is out for the season, the Boston Globe reported.
I haven’t listened to the radio today. I’m sure this is all anybody is talking about. That the Pats are doomed now that Vince Wilfork is out for the season. That it’s the final straw that will break this team’s back and mercifully put this debacle of a 4-0 season behind us. Borges probably blaming Belichick for having Wilfork in the game in the 1st quarter. Felger and Mazz blaming Vince’s injury on letting Welker go. Listen no doubt it’s a huge loss. Anytime you lose one of your best defensive players and the captain of the defense it hurts. But if we’ve learned anything about the Patriots it’s when one man goes down the next guy just steps up and takes his place. Do your job. DO YOUR JOB. Injuries happen. It’s part of football. It sucks Vince got hurt but anybody who thinks the Pats won’t adapt just hasn’t paid attention for the last 15 years. Bottomline is no one injury besides to Brady can derail this train.
As a side note it’s been so long since the Pats have been discounted and ridiculed like they have been this year that rankly I’m loving every second of it. It reminds me of the superbowl years when people would pick the Colts every single year and then we’d mutilate them in the playoffs. It’s gonna be déjà vu when the Pats hammer the Broncos in the AFC title game and humiliate Peyton yet again. I’m almost crying tears of joy as I write this just thinking about it.
