The People Have Spoken And They Want Tacko Fall In The All Star Game

Ok let's get this out of the way early. Everyone knows the fan vote is 100% a popularity contest and in most cases does not reflect who truly might be deserving of an All Star spot. The sad news is it accounts for 50% of the formula and it should be no surprise that the more popular players clean up with the fan vote while other deserving players get boned. Sup Spencer Dinwiddie you poor bastard. I used to get all bent out of shape about these early results until I accepted that fans don't take this all that seriously and just vote for their favorite players, not the ones who should actually be rewarded with a spot. 

For my own interests, I see a number of Celts have done pretty well so far. Kemba is where you would expect being near the top of all guards in the East, a guy that is in my opinion a lock to be an All Star starter. The surprises though for me at least were how close Jaylen was to someone like Ben Simmons. I find that weird because Sixers fans love to tell me how much better Simmons is and that he's a top 15 player. Guess they didn't really feel like turning out and voting for a player who has taken a step back this season. You hate to see it. It was also cool that Tatum was so high in the forwards group, and to me about where he should be. I have no problem with any of the guys ranked ahead of him and Hayward certainly got more votes than I expected given he's missed so much time. 

But who really cares about any of those guys. The real story here is the people want Tacko, and you know what? We deserve All Star Tacko. I won't sit here and try and validate these results despite Tacko leading the league in both usage% AND points per/48 minutes at 58.0. That's more than James Harden incase you were wondering. I fully accept how utterly ridiculous it is that he is SIXTH in frontcourt voting with 6,000 more votes than Bam, a player who you could argue has been one of the best bigs this entire year in the East. It's why people will hate fan voting and my response to that is if you don't want Tacko in the All Star game doing cool Tacko shit then you have a gigantic dump in your pants. Learn to have fun for me one time. Every single time this dude steps on the floor it's amazing. Every. Single. Time. 

I know the chances are small. I know there is no logical way Tacko can make this roster, but at the same time I didn't even think it was possible for him to finish this high in the first place. Now I don't know what to believe or what could be possible. I just know my rule in life is it's always a good idea to have more Tacko than less Tacko so I'm going to need for this happen. The world clearly has Tacko fever and it fucking rules.
