I Am Sick Of The Boston Bruins Losing Hockey Games

I am sick of the Boston Bruins losing hockey games. The month of December has not been kind to the B's. Tonight it took about a minute and a half for the Bruins to unravel in the 2nd period, 2 quick goals for the Nashville Predators and it cost the Bruins their lead and eventually the game. Bergeron scored late to tie but the Bruins eventually fell in OT, they have now lost 8 of their last 9 games (3 straight in SO or OT), as they continue to find new ways to lose hockey games.

There was no scoring in the 1st period. The Bruins played well but couldn't convert on their lone PP in the first period.

Par Lindholm opened the scoring with a greasy goal midway through the 2nd period. Good things happen when you crash the net. 1-0 Bruins.

Roman Josi tied the game with 7:46 left in the 2nd, Roman Josi during 4 on 4. Tough goal for Halak to give up. 1-1.

With less than a minute to go in the 2nd, Patrice Bergeron regained the lead for the Bruins on the PP. 2-1 after 2.

Despite the Bruins dominating the play early in the 3rd, Filip Forsberg tied the game with the goalie pulled (penalty on BOS). 2-2.

35 seconds after Forsberg's game tying goal, Roman Josi scored again to give the Preds the 3-2. Jaro Halak came way out of his crease aaaaaand Josi put the puck in the empty net.

With the goalie pulled, Patrice Bergeron redirected a pass from David Pastrnak to tie the game and send it to OT. God himself with his 2nd goal of the game. 3-3 after 3.

Ryan Ellis put the dagger in the Bruins with the OT winner. The Bruins have now lost 8 of their last 9 games.

FINAL: Nashville 4, Boston 3 (OT)

News, notes and quotes:

- The most frustrating part of this losing streak is that the Bruins are playing well for stretches, and then boom next thing you know it's a turnover or a goal in the back of their net. I truly do not know where they go from here. Their lead in the Atlantic sits at 9 points, but teams will continue to creep up if the Bruins don't find themselves back in the win column here soon.

- At least they scored a power play goal tonight.

- David Pastrnak has been named Alternate Division Captain for the 2020 All Star Game in St. Louis. Well deserved. Thought he had a tough night, was a little hesitant on some plays. Looked like he was forcing things all night. Thought Marchand had a great night, seemed frustrated at times but he was giving everything he has.

- Patrice Bergeron quietly racking up goals since he's returned from a LBI. Massive PPG in the 2nd to regain the lead, and then he scores to send it to OT.

- Par Lindholm, Brett Ritchie were inserted into the lineup in favor of David Backes and Joakim Nordstrom. Lindholm scored the most Lindholm goal ever in the 2nd, assisted by, you guessed it, Brett Ritchie.

- I don't mind Heinen playing with Krejci and DeBrusk but I'm not sure about Bjork, Coyle and Wagner.

- Bright Lights turned 22 today. Had a Grade A chance in the 2nd but rang the post. Still looking for his first of the season. I keep trying to speak a goal into existence but nothing so far.

- Not Jaro Halak's best game. Roman Josi schooled him not once but twice. Soft goal in the 1st and then Halak came way out in the 3rd as the Preds tilted the ice. OT goal wasn't on him, puck stayed behind the net as Marchand and Bergeron skated by. Ellis wide open. Game.

I am straight up not having a good time in the month of December. Life isn't getting any easier as the Washington Capitals will be coming to town on Monday night.

I, Marina Molnar, am too, sick of losing.
