CNN - As he begins his 20th and final season in pinstripes, Jeter remains the type of role-model player that even a Red Sox fan must grudgingly respect. It’s not the five World Series rings he’s won or his team record for career hits. In a steroid-tainted, reality-TV era, Jeter, the son of two Army veterans, continues to stand out because of his old-school approach: Never offer excuses or give less than maximum effort.
How about that? My hypothetical best friend is the number 11 leader in the WHOLE FUCKING WORLD. There is not another single athlete on this entire list of 50 people, and there is not a single athlete any of you could think of that is a better leader. Not Lebron, not Brady, not Manning, not (insert any hockey player here cause I don’t know any) and there are only a few coaches that even made this list. There is no other way to describe Jeter that is better than “Never offer excuses or give less than maximum effort.”.
On a serious note, this is pretty cool but having Jeter at 11 is kind of dumb. Why isn’t he 10? Who gives a flying fuck about Bono anymore? He is like an Irish cockroach that just won’t go away and all he does is help poor countries I couldn’t give a flying fuck about. I demand a recount!
We only have 1 season of Jeter’s greatness left, so follow me on Twitter to watch me suck his dick all year, 140 characters at a time.
