Whoever Decided The Celtics Needed 5 Days Off Should Be Thrown In Jail

Listen, I'm not going to sit here and tell you I fully understand all the little details and scenarios that go into making the NBA schedule. My brain hurts just thinking about all that math and travel and bullshit that people who are way smarter than me handle every year. But what I will say is whoever it was that decided the Celtics needed to be off from Friday to Wednesday of this week needs to be locked up. I'm all for guys getting rest, this roster could certainly use it, but 5 days? Really? I can understand two, maybe a little time off coming off a big road trip, but that isn't the case with the Celts. I get they played 3 games in 4 nights before this break, but isn't that just a normal NBA schedule?

Coming off back to back collapses and brutal loses to two Eastern Conference competitors, now was not the time for this sort of break. All I've done since the final buzzer sounded on Thursday was replay the 4th quarter against IND and Mike Scott hitting 5 3PM for only the second time this season over and over and over again in my brain. I'm tired as fuck with all the sleep I've lost and frankly I blame the NBA schedulers. This is when the NBA schedule usually helps you out, you have an embarrassing loss that should have never happened and you can immediately forget about it because there's another game in a blink of an eye. But as Celtics fans we've been left to sit here and do nothing but stew in our failures and frankly I don't care for it.

Maybe some of you are thinking "Greenie, why don't you just go outside? Or watch football? Or play 2K?" Well I would love to, but you see my brain doesn't work like that. I honestly just sit around all day thinking about the last time this team played while staring at my clock waiting for the next tip off. That's it. That's my life. So to tell me that there is going to be a random 5 day stretch in DECEMBER with no Celtics basketball is simply unacceptable. If I was stuck in the cubes multiply this frustration by about 10000x.

All I know is this, the Celtics end 2019 with a pretty easy schedule of DAL (no Luka)/DET/CHA/TOR/CLE/TOR/CHA and that includes another two day break before Christmas and then again before the second CHA game. If they can't finish this year strong with all this rest plus a pretty relaxed schedule, then what the hell are we doing here.

So considering we still have about 15 years before we see this team play again, I suppose you could spend some time watching the young kids tear up Maine

but seriously, this team needs to come back and start playing basketball again. I'm starting to lose my goddamn mind. Every night we see all these other teams playing and their fans having a blast and we're left on the outside looking in. Two more days to go, we can do this.
